Web 2 applications & LIS survey

In the last half of 2010 I set up a survey to collect information on what Web 2.0 applications were being used by school libraries for their library & information services.

The snapshot report, Web 2.0 applications and library & information services, presented a picture that in 2010 school library personnel were not extensively using Web 2.0 tools to promote their services and programs.  For many, they were exploring and investigating the options. Trying to work out which ones would be suitable and how they could be used.

In today’s high-tech information environment it is important to work towards leveraging the new (and emerging) technology to promote what school libraries can offer to the school community.

With this in mind I have set up the survey again to capture data to see if any changes have taken place 12 months on.

The Web 2.0 & LIS survey has 4 demographic type questions to start with and then 4 specific sections that ask about what tools you are using and for what purpose.

No ‘required question’ is asking for your details or those of your school.  You can remain totally anonymous.  I hope you will be willing to participate.

The survey will close at the end of March and I will prepare the report and post to the articles section.

It will be interesting to compare the results.

Regards,
Karen Bonanno

P.S. Please participate in the Web 2.0 & LIS survey

What people say …

We have already used a lot of the information from the education webinars, most recently in a meeting with the Head of Teaching & Learning. I can't begin to tell you how useful the webinars and your website have been to date and will be to the future of our work.
